What Is the Free Medical Camp?

The Free Medical Camp is a monthly community health initiative organised by St. Xavier's Hospital. On the first Friday of every month, our doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff open their doors — completely free of charge — to provide medical consultations, diagnostic tests, and medicines to those who cannot afford private healthcare.

This initiative has already been a lifeline for countless poor families across Nagercoil, Chunkankadai, Marthandam, Colachel, and the wider Kanyakumari district.

Who Can Attend the Free Medical Camp?

The Free Medical Camp is open to everyone — poor and underprivileged families, senior citizens who cannot afford regular medical care, daily wage workers and farmers, and anyone who needs medical attention but cannot afford hospital fees. There is no registration fee, no consultation charge, and no hidden cost of any kind.

What Services Are Available at the Camp?

Free Consultations: General Medicine and Diabetology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dermatology.

Free Diagnostic Tests: Random Blood Sugar, Haemoglobin Test, HbA1c, Blood Cholesterol Test.

Free Specialised Assessments: Audiometry, Biothesiometer, Dating Scan for pregnant women.

Free Medicines: All medicines prescribed during the camp are provided completely free of charge to every patient.

The Medical Card provides free consultation for General Medicine and Diabetology, 10% discount on medicines and blood tests, 20% discount on surgeries, 30% discount on laparoscopic and cancer surgeries, Normal Delivery at ₹20,000, Caesarean Surgery at ₹30,000, and Dialysis at just ₹1,499 per cycle.
